‘Sodara’ Promises Laughter and Tears, Say Stars Sampoornesh Babu and Sanjosh

Sampoornesh Babu, who carved a niche for himself in Telugu cinema with his quirky and entertaining films, is all set to return with Sodara a heartfelt story about the bond between brothers. Co-starring Sanjosh in a key role, the film is directed by Man Mohan Manem Palli and produced by Chandra Chagandla under the Can Entertainments banner. Sodara hits the big screens on April 25.

Speaking at a media interaction, Sampoornesh Babu opened up about the project:

"The relationship between brothers is something truly special, and Sodara captures that emotion beautifully. This is very different from my earlier moviesit's a family drama that revolves around two brothers. I play the elder sibling, someone who shoulders responsibility and carries a lot of emotional weight. While playing this character, I often thought about my real-life elder brother, Narasimha Chari.

Initially, it was challenging because I was balancing other projects too. But I eventually decided to pause everything else to give this role the emotional dedication it needed.

Though there's humor, it’s gentle and family-friendly. After watching Sodara, many will feel like picking up the phone and calling their siblings. People often ask why I haven't done another film like Hrudaya Kaleyamthe reason is simple: I haven't found a script that matched that level of comedy. If I do, I’m ready! Besides Sodara, I’ve also acted in upcoming movies and a web series titled Super Subbu. I still dream of doing intense characterssomething along the lines of Upendra’s performance in A."

Co-star Sanjosh, who plays the younger brother, shared his own perspective:

"After my debut in Beveras, getting to work alongside Sampoornesh Babu in Sodara has been an amazing experience. The film portrays the story of an innocent elder brother and a sharp, modern younger one. Our director fondly calls it a ‘bromantic drama’a fresh take on brotherhood filled with emotion and heart.

We rarely see movies in Telugu cinema that explore sibling relationships with such sincerity. Audiences are going to see themselves and their own families reflected on screen.

Legendary actor Babu Mohan plays our father in the film, and his performance brings a lot of gravitas to the story. Right from the beginning, I felt that only Sampoo could do justice to the elder brother’s role, and he agreed to the project the moment he heard the script.

Sodara is about a kind of brotherhood that feels rare in today’s fast-paced world. If it inspires even a few people to reconnect with their siblings, we’ll consider it a success. It’s a film that will make you laugh, and just as easily, move you to tears.

As for me, I’m gearing up to lead a new project soonan intense story inspired by a real-life confrontation between an arrogant cop and a common man."

Blending clean comedy with heartfelt storytelling, Sodara promises to deliver an emotional cinematic experience, celebrating the timeless bond between brothers.
