Hyderabad: The upcoming fantasy-magic film Tuk Tuk is set to offer a fresh and intriguing cinematic experience. Directed by C. Supreet Krishna, the film features Harsha Roshan, Karthikeya Dev, Steven Madhu, Sanvi Meghana, and Nihal Kodhati in key roles. Produced by Rahul Reddy, Lokku Sri Varun, and Sriramulu Reddy under the Chitravahini and RYG Cinemas banners, the film is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 21.

Sharing insights about the film, director Supreet Krishna revealed that Tuk Tuk was inspired by a cricket advertisement featuring a vehicle, which sparked the question: What if a vehicle had a life of its own? This thought evolved into a compelling story infused with entertainment, emotion, and commercial appeal.

Supreet emphasized that Tuk Tuk is an original story and has no connection to past films like Bamma Mata Bangaru Bata, Mechanic Mamayya, or Karu Diddina Kaapuram. The film’s title carries a deeper meaning, which will be unveiled on screen. Set in Chittoor, the narrative spans from the 1990s to the present, drawing inspiration from the director’s own background.

The casting process was meticulous, as the story required three teenage boys. After extensive auditions and workshops, Harsha, Karthikeya, and Madhu were selected for the lead roles. At the heart of the story is Tuk Tuk, a vehicle that isn’t just a mode of transport it possesses a unique personality, knowing the past, present, and future. With its witty responses and emotional depth, Tuk Tuk plays a pivotal role in the film’s narrative.

Following his success with Court, Harsha Roshan is expected to bring strong value to Tuk Tuk. The film promises a mix of fantasy, mystery, and an engaging screenplay, ensuring a wholesome cinematic experience. The biggest mystery remains—whether Tuk Tuk is a supernatural entity or something divine keeping audiences intrigued until the very end.

Supreet Krishna, who has previously worked as a writer under Puri Jagannadh and made the OTT film Alanaati Sitrala, is making his feature film directorial debut with Tuk Tuk. Looking ahead, he hinted at a potential franchise, where different vehicles with unique backstories could be explored in future installments.

For now, the focus is on the film’s theatrical release. Depending on its reception, Supreet Krishna is keen to continue crafting fresh and innovative narratives. With its blend of magic, humor, and emotion, Tuk Tuk is all set to entertain audiences when it hits screens on March 21.
