‘Thandel’ PreRelease Press Meet Highlights
The highly anticipated film Thandel, starring Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, is set for a grand worldwide release on February 7. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts, the film has already generated massive buzz with its promotional content and music by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad.
During the prerelease Q&A press meet, Naga Chaitanya expressed confidence in the film, stating that the last 30 minutes would be at peak intensity and would exceed expectations. When asked about his father, Nagarjuna’s reaction, Chaitanya mentioned that he loved the film and plans to bring him to the success meet.
Producer Allu Aravind shared insights about the film’s development. He revealed that while the first half of the story was strong, the second half initially had a documentarylike feel. To enhance the script, the team personally met 30 reallife individuals involved in the story and secured their rights. Aravind also stated that Geetha Arts believes in releasing their films themselves wherever possible, as they have full confidence in Thandel.
Director Chandoo Mondeti discussed the film’s emotional depth, emphasizing its themes of love, separation, and unwavering belief. When asked about performance comparisons between Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, he hinted that audiences would have debates postrelease. He also acknowledged similarities with Roja but assured that Thandel carries even stronger emotions.
Bunny Vasu highlighted the extensive research done for the Pakistan sequences and praised art director Nagendra for creating authentic sets. Lyricist Srimani expressed pride in the film’s songs, especially the impactful Azaadi track.
Allu Aravind reflected on the evolution of Telugu cinema, noting that while Magadheera was made with ₹45 crore back then, inflationadjusted costs today align with the current bigbudget films. He credited Telugu filmmakers, actors, and audiences for the industry’s growth.
The team is highly confident about Thandel being a massive success, with Naga Chaitanya’s performance expected to be a major highlight. The film promises a grand theatrical experience and a gripping, emotional journey.
