Pawan Kalyan Unveils ‘Maha Bhakti’ Channel Logo, Advocates for Hinduism
In a significant move to promote Hindu traditions and values, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan unveiled the logo of Maha Bhakti TV, a new devotional channel under the Maha TV News Network. This initiative, led by Maha News MD Vamsi Krishna, aims to uphold Sanatana Dharma and provide a dedicated platform for discussing Hindu philosophy and history.
Speaking at the event, Pawan Kalyan expressed his gratitude for being part of the launch and emphasized the need for media platforms that defend Hinduism.
"My heartfelt greetings to Vamsi garu for inviting me to this launch. Honestly, I don't consider myself the ideal person for this event—I am not a monk or scholar. But as an ordinary follower of Hinduism, I feel the need to speak up when our traditions are misrepresented or criticized," Pawan said.
He pointed out that while many media houses openly criticize Hinduism, very few stand up for it. He lauded Maha Bhakti TV for taking the initiative, adding that defending religion should not be seen as just a business move but as a cultural responsibility.
Reflecting on his experiences, Pawan Kalyan shared an anecdote about his visit to the Meenakshi Temple in Mathura, where he learned about the struggles faced in protecting sacred idols from invaders.
"I was embarrassed to see how Hinduism, a religion that preaches equality, is constantly mocked in the name of secularism. When other religions face criticism, people hesitate to speak. But when Hinduism is attacked, no one raises their voice—because they fear it might cost them votes. This selective silence is something that needs to be challenged," he remarked.
The Deputy CM also addressed the misrepresentation of Indian history, citing scholars who have allegedly distorted facts.
We need to re-examine history. People like Urmila Thapar have influenced historical narratives since the days of British rule under Macaulay. They have created a false divide between North and South India. There is strong evidence—from ancient scriptures to astronomical calculations proving the historical timelines of events like the Kurukshetra War and the birth of Lord Rama. Yet, some dismiss these facts without debate," he stated.
He urged Maha Bhakti TV to educate the younger generation about Sanatana Dharma, ensuring that history is presented with clarity and authenticity.
In his concluding remarks, Pawan Kalyan encouraged Telugu people to support the channel and its mission.
I hope Maha Bhakti TV serves as a strong voice for Hinduism, countering misinformation with facts and logic. Under the leadership of Vamsi garu, I wish this channel great success," he said.
With this launch, Maha Bhakti TV is set to become a prominent platform for devotional content and discussions on Hindu heritage, reinforcing its commitment to preserving and promoting Sanatana Dharma.
