L2: Empuraan Grand Teaser Launch – The Most Anticipated Malayalam Film of the Year Gears Up for Release
The highly anticipated Malayalam film L2: Empuraan had its grand teaser launch on Sunday in Kochi, marking a major event in Indian cinema. The star-studded affair saw the presence of iconic actors Mammootty, Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Murali Gopy, and Tovino Thomas. The event also marked Lyca Productions' debut in the Malayalam film industry, joining hands with Aashirvad Cinemas.
Manju Warrier, who reprises her role as Priyadarshini Ramdas, shared her excitement. “I’ve lost count of how many projects I’ve done with Aashirvad Cinemas, but Lucifer gave me one of the most memorable roles of my career. Priyadarshini Ramdas remains close to my heart, and I hope audiences embrace Empuraan with the same love they showed Lucifer.”
Tovino Thomas, who plays Jathin Ramdas, spoke fondly of his journey. “When Prithviraj narrated my role in Lucifer, he told me Jathin would leave a lasting impression, and he was right. That role gave me incredible visibility as an artist. With Empuraan, I finally got to share screen space with Lalettan (Mohanlal), which was a dream come true and a remarkable learning experience.
Director-actor Prithviraj Sukumaran expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout the making of the film. “I want to welcome Lyca Productions to Malayalam cinema. I hope Empuraan serves as a great entry point for them. A special thanks to my producer and brother, Antony Perumbavoor. I thought I was the craziest about cinema, but Antony proved me wrong by backing this vision every step of the way.”
Prithviraj also lauded Mohanlal, calling him the cornerstone of the project. “This entire journey wouldn’t have been possible without Lalettan. Beyond being an actor, he stood with me as a mentor and a pillar of strength. I still remember a situation when bad weather halted our shoot for a week. When I went to explain the delay, he simply smiled and told me to focus on the film. That kind of support is invaluable.”
Mohanlal’s concluding speech electrified the audience. “Thank you, Lyca Productions, for joining hands with Aashirvad Cinemas. Turning to Prithviraj, I must say you’re not an accidental director as you claim you’re the chosen one. I hope you go on to become one of India’s greatest filmmakers. As for Empuraan, this film faced its share of challenges, but Prithviraj has given his all to this project, and it shows. I’ve seen the film, and it’s nothing short of a cinematic milestone.”
With the teaser launch setting high expectations, L2: Empuraan is all set to hit theaters on March 27. Promising to be a landmark in Malayalam cinema, the film aims to push creative boundaries and captivate audiences worldwide.
