AP Local TV Staff Arrested for Piracy of Ram Charan's Game Changer

AP Local TV staff arrested for broadcasting a pirated version of Ram Charan's Game Changer. Cybercrime complaint filed; equipment seized

Game Changer, starring Global Star Ram Charan and helmed by visionary director Shankar, was released on January 10 to tremendous expectations and received a highly positive response from audiences. Produced on a grand scale by Dil Raju and Sirish, the film has been a major talking point in the industry.

However, the success of the film was marred by piracy when a group of around 45 individuals leaked a pirated version online. The filmmakers swiftly lodged a cybercrime complaint to combat this issue.

In a shocking turn of events, a local TV channel named AP Local TV illegally broadcasted the pirated version of the film in Andhra Pradesh. Acting on the complaint, M/S Copyright Safety Systems, led by Managing Director Mr. H.V. Chalapathi Raju, joined forces with the Gajuwaka Police and the Crime Clues Team under the Visakhapatnam Commissionerate. A coordinated raid was conducted on AP Local TV, represented by Appala Raju, leading to the seizure of broadcasting equipment. The authorities registered an FIR (22/2025) and arrested those responsible.

The Game Changer team also reported a planned negative campaign against the film on social media platforms, including X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. This campaign involved sharing leaked clips and the entire movie online, constituting a severe violation of copyright laws. The swift and decisive action by law enforcement aims to curb such illegal activities and protect the film industry.
