Drinker Sai: A Story with a Strong Message and Commercial Appeal – Young Hero Dharma
"Drinker Sai," starring Dharma and Aishwarya Sharma in lead roles, carries the intriguing tagline Brand of Bad Boys. Directed by Kiran Tirumalasetti, the film is based on real-life events and is being produced by Basavaraju Srinivas, Ismail Sheikh, and Basavaraju Laharidhar under the banners Everest Cinemass and Smart Screen Entertainments. Set for a grand theatrical release on the 27th of this month, Hero Dharma recently opened up about the film and his journey in an interview.
Entry into Cinema
"I’m from Hanuman Junction in Guntur and have been passionate about acting and dancing since childhood. I often performed to Megastar Chiranjeevi garu’s songs and participated in school plays, which nurtured my interest in films. My grandfather was a theater exhibitor, and my father worked with notable producers like Kakani Babu and Shobhan Babu on films like Punya Dampatulu. Despite my family's background in cinema, my father didn’t want me to enter the industry.
After completing my engineering and running a successful business, my passion for acting drew me to Satyanand Garu’s acting institute. Prabhas, with his natural acting style, is my favorite actor, while I admire Megastar Chiranjeevi’s unmatched grace in dance."
About "Drinker Sai"
"Although I acted in Sindhuram, Drinker Sai is my first lead role. The story, inspired by real events, immediately excited me. I even met the real-life individual the story is based on to better understand his experiences. While the narrative stays true to its roots, we’ve added fictional elements for cinematic appeal.
Pre-production began in 2019, and filming took place last year. Our director, Kiran Tirumalasetti, who previously worked as a writer for Maruthi Garu, refined the script during the lockdown, ensuring a smooth shooting process. His dedication to the project was remarkable."
About Aishwarya Sharma
"Aishwarya Sharma, our heroine, is incredibly focused and passionate about her craft. Her portrayal of Baghi will leave a lasting impression on audiences. Acting alongside her was a memorable experience."
Home work for Drinker Sai Role
"To bring authenticity to my character, Sai, I observed drinkers despite not being one myself. Our director even took me to bars to study their behavior, which helped me master their body language. It was a unique and valuable learning experience."
About Producer
"Producer Basavaraju Srinivas, a close associate of Chiranjeevi garu, played a crucial role in bringing this project to life. When I shared the story with Chiranjeevi garu, he encouraged me, saying, 'It’s good, proceed.' His blessings mean the world to us.
My father, who was initially hesitant about my career in films, praised my performance in Drinker Sai. Watching the film, he finally expressed his belief in my success. His words were deeply encouraging."
"Drinker Sai is more than a commercial entertainer. It’s a powerful love story with a meaningful message. While the trailer and teaser feature youthful content to attract audiences, the film’s true essence lies in its gripping second half and emotional pre-climax. It delivers a strong, heart-touching message without misleading the youth."
"After completing my training with Satyanand Garu, he blessed me with his confidence in my potential as a hero. His guidance has been invaluable. As I continue to explore new stories, I’m excited to share more about my upcoming projects soon."
Drinker Sai promises to be a blend of entertainment and emotion, delivering a story that resonates with audiences. Catch it in theaters on the 27th!
