Director Dr. Haritha Gogineni Expresses Gratitude at Fear Success Meet
The recently released suspense thriller Fear, starring Vedhika in the lead role, has been met with overwhelming praise from both audiences and critics. Directed by Dr. Haritha Gogineni and produced by Dr. Vanki Penchalayya and AR Abhi under the banner of Dattatreya Media, the film has garnered widespread attention for its unique storytelling. With a grand theatrical release on December 14th, Fear is already on track to be a superhit, receiving exceptional feedback across all centers.
At the success meet held in Hyderabad, the team shared their thoughts and reflections on the film's journey.
Cinematographer I. Andrew spoke about the strong screenplay, saying, “Haritha Garu crafted Fear around a powerful screenplay. When she first narrated the story, I believed it would win awards. The film’s screenplay has been lauded, and it’s rare to see such quality in a Telugu film. Haritha also conveyed a meaningful message through this suspense thriller, and we’re grateful to the audience for their support.”
Actor Appaji Ambarish, who played the role of the heroine's grandfather, added, “Fear is being called a fantastic psychological thriller. The audience response has been overwhelmingly positive, and the media played a key role in promoting the film. We worked together like a family, and it was a joy to be a part of this project.”
Actor Shani, who portrayed a bully in the film, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Haritha Garu selected me for this role, and I’m proud to have been part of it. This character will be a memorable one in my career.”
Producer AR Abhi shared his excitement, saying, “The audience has made Fear a success, and we’re grateful for their support. We faced an unfortunate incident with Allu Arjun sir's arrest just before our release, but we’re relieved that he was granted bail. Despite that, our film’s response has been overwhelmingly positive. We released the film in 150 theaters, and the audience feedback has been excellent. I’m particularly proud of Haritha’s creativity in directing the film. We completed the project in just six months, and it’s amazing to see it doing so well.”
Actress Sahithi Dasari, who also starred in the film, shared her excitement: “I’m thrilled with the response. There’s a dialogue from the movie that’s gone viral, similar to the way Baahubali’s dialogue became a sensation. Every member of the team gave their best, and the screenplay truly is the hero of the film.”
Director Dr. Haritha Gogineni, expressing her happiness, said, “I am elated with the response we’ve received. A few things about the film haven’t been highlighted before. We completed the entire film in just 16 days, and after applying to international awards, we won over 70 awards across 39 prestigious film festivals. The first copy was ready within seven months, which is a remarkable achievement. The color scheme we used in the film and some of the single-take shots were unique to this film. We focused on delivering a suspense thriller with a psychological and horror element, without adding unnecessary commercial elements.”
Haritha further noted, “It’s rare for a small-budget film to be made with such dedication and creativity. Fear has found a repeat audience, which is a huge accomplishment for a suspense thriller. I encourage everyone to watch it again and enjoy it on the big screen with quality sound.”
In conclusion, Haritha emphasized the importance of supporting the film legally and refraining from piracy: “If you haven’t seen Fear yet, I strongly recommend watching it in theaters. Please support us by avoiding piracy.”
