        Hon’ble Minister T Harish Rao to present the award on Sankalp Diwas (November 28th) to mark birthday of Lion Dr. Y. Kiron


Hyderabad, November 25th, 2021: Noted social activist and Ramon Magsaysay Awardee, Prof. Aruna Roy has been nominated for the ‘Sakalp Kiron Puraskar’, an award instituted by theSuchirIndia Foundation, the CSR arm of SuchirIndia, one of the leading real estate and hospitality enterprises in South India. The award will be presented at a glittering event to be held at People’s Plaza (Necklace Road) on “Sankalp Diwas 2022” (November 28th) to mark the birthday of humanitarian and visionary, Lion Dr. Y. Kiron.


Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Health & Family Welfare, Sri T Harish Rao garu and Hon’ble Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, Sri E Dayakar Rao garu will be present on the occasion as special guests and present the award. Also, to be awarded on the occasion are Sankalp SanjeevaniPuraskar (6 receipients), Sankalp Siddhi Puraskars to identified NGOs which are great service to specially abled children and individuals. Ms. BalaLatha, Director - CSB IAS ACADEMY, Former Deputy Director - Ministry of Defense, 2-times UPSC Civil Services Ranker, Social Activist and Motivator; and Mr. M Sreenivasulu, 2-times National Presidential Awardee, member of Telangana State Advisory Board, will grace the occasion as Sankalp VisishtaAtithi.


Expressing her delight in receiving the Puraskar, Prof. Aruna Roy, founder of Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan said, "I am very happy to be selected for Sankalp Kiron Puraskar. I also want to laud Lion. Dr. Y. Kiron, who found a unique means to celebrate his birthday. His way of spending time on his birthday with special children with special needs is worth emulating. India needs more such people who believe in giving, to make this country and the world a better place. Lion Dr. Y. Kiron for many years now celebrates his birthday as Sankalp Diwas, and spends time with specially abled children.
