Inside Crazy Kalyanam: Producer Boosam Jagan Mohan Reddy Speaks Out

Crazy Kalyanam Geared Up for Dasara: Producer Boosam Jagan Mohan Reddy Promises a Heartwarming Family Entertainer

With festive spirits running high, Arrow Cinemas is ready to present Crazy Kalyanam worldwide on October 16. Starring Anupama Parameswaran, VK Naresh, Tharun Bhascker, and Akhil Uddemari (Raju Weds Rambai), the film marks the directorial debut of Badrappa Gajula and serves as Production No. 2 for producer Boosam Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Ahead of its theatrical release, producer Boosam Jagan Mohan Reddy discussed why the film is primed for a festive audience, the creative process, and its strong industry backing.

Capitalizing on the Festive Window

Originally slated for an October 30 release, the team advanced the date following schedule shifts in the Dasara corridor, notably the postponement of Venkatesh’s Aadarsha Kutumbam.

“Our story is a clean, wholesome family drama. When the festival slot opened up, the entire team agreed that Dasara was the perfect window. The cast stepped up to finish pending patchwork, rallying behind the new October 16 date because of their absolute faith in the script.”

Rooted in Telangana, Universally Relatable

While the narrative unfolds entirely in authentic rural settings across Medak district, Reddy emphasizes that its emotional core will resonate across every Telugu household.

Authentic Yet Accessible: The dialogue uses a natural Telangana dialect carefully tuned so viewers across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh can connect effortlessly.

Familiar Emotions: Drawing parallels to timeless family hits like Bommarillu, Reddy noted that the film captures domestic dynamics that feel both personal and universally understood.

Stellar Cast and Fine-Tuned Performances

Reddy noted that casting fell into place naturally from the moment the script was finalized:

Anupama Parameswaran: Committed thoroughly to the role, attending dialect workshops to master her character’s linguistic nuances.

VK Naresh: Brings seasoned depth and comedic timing, perfectly suited to a role conceived specifically with him in mind.

Tharun Bhascker: Elevated key sequences through spontaneous on-set improvisations, which Reddy believes will spark a surge in acting offers for the filmmaker-actor.

Industry Backing and Distribution

Having transitioned from a successful career producing advertisements and documentaries, Reddy applied disciplined budget control throughout the film's three-year development cycle. The project enters theaters on solid financial ground, with satellite, streaming, and audio rights secured prior to release.

The theatrical run is backed by prominent industry banners:

Distribution Partners: Bunny Vas, Suresh Productions, and Asian Cinemas came onboard after special screenings to manage distribution.

Screen Count: Launching on approximately 200 screens, with exhibitors prepared to scale up theater counts as positive word-of-mouth spreads.

Future Prospects: Plans are underway to dub and release the film in Tamil and Malayalam based on its initial domestic reception.

Melodic Soundtrack Grounded in Folk Roots

Composer Suresh Bobbili scored the film's music, delivering five full tracks and two theme bit songs. The album features lyrical contributions from folk icons and top lyricists, including Dr. Gorati Venkanna (three songs), Kasarla Shyam (two songs), and Mittapalli Surender (one song).
