Chandra Siddharth’s ‘Ee Paata Korinavaaru Nemalipalem Nundi Rama, Jyotsna, Nandu, Murali, Kabir, Dhol Ravi Modalaguvaru’ to Release on September 18
The longest title in Telugu cinema comes with a unique mystery musical concept
Filmmaker Chandra Siddharth, known for films such as Aa Naluguru, Madhumasam, Andari Bandhuvaya, Idi Sangathi and Aatagadharaa Siva, is coming up with an unconventional film titled Ee Paata Korinavaaru Nemalipalem Nundi Rama, Jyotsna, Nandu, Murali, Kabir, Dhol Ravi Modalaguvaru. The film carries the subtitle A Forbidden Raga from a Forbidden Saga and is set for a theatrical release on September 18.
Produced by Chandra Siddharth under the Filmotsav banner, the film is based on a story by the late filmmaker and writer Madan. Harsha makes his debut as a lead actor, while Ammayra Goswami, Sujana Reddy, Inaya Sultana, Ravi Varma, Anirudh Srivastava, Ashokvardhan, Rekha Nirosha, Sunny, Giri and others play important roles.
The film is presented as a neuroscientific thriller and the first-ever mystery musical, exploring the connection between sound, music and the human brain. Sound therapy, brain mapping, memories, guilt and love form key elements of the story.
Sharing details about the film, director-producer Chandra Siddharth said, “This is the longest title in the history of Indian cinema. My friend Madan and I always wanted to make this story into a film. It was the last story Madan planned before his demise. I had earlier made Aa Naluguru based on one of his stories.”
He further explained the film’s intriguing premise: “Every night at exactly 10:30 PM, the same song is broadcast on a radio station. Rama, Jyotsna, Nandu, Murali, Kabir, Dhol Ravi and others from Nemalipalem keep requesting the song. Nemalipalem is a village that no longer exists, which is the reason behind the film’s unusual title.”
“The protagonist Sagar’s obsession with this song takes him into a world of fragmented memories, guilt and a scientific experiment that has erased a part of his very soul. The film combines neuroscience, sound, mystery, memories and love to create a completely different cinematic experience.”
Music plays a crucial role in the film, which features four songs composed by Jay Rex. Chandra Siddharth has penned the lyrics, while Pulagam Chinnarayana has written the dialogues. Sam Supreeth is the cinematographer, with Bobbili Bhanu Prakash and Giridhar handling the editing.
The makers are now gearing up for the film’s theatrical release on September 18.
