That Hug From My Guru Meant Everything – Actor Lathish

“He Spoke About Me… Then Hugged Me. That’s a Moment I’ll Never Forget” – ‘Thimmarajupalli TV’ Actor Lathish

The film Thimmarajupalli TV has emerged as a successful launchpad for many fresh talents. Backed by Kiran Abbavaram, the movie introduced nearly 50 new actors and technicians to the industry. One among them is actor Lathish, who won appreciation for his intense performance as the antagonist Siddaiah. Speaking about his emotional journey from struggle to recognition, Lathish opened up about his life, career, and the unforgettable moments that shaped him.

We Came From a Very Difficult Background

Lathish shared that he comes from a financially struggling agricultural family from Nagari. Life was extremely hard during his childhood, and there were times when even basic necessities were difficult to afford. Despite the hardships, his parents and elder brother worked tirelessly to educate the family.

He revealed that when he first chose cinema as a career, his brother strongly disapproved and even stopped speaking to him. However, after watching Thimmarajupalli TV and seeing his performance, his brother finally spoke to him again a moment that meant a lot to him emotionally.

Lathish also credited his sister Chamundeshwari and brother-in-law Koteshwara Rao for constantly supporting him throughout his journey.

Everyone Praised My Acting… But No One Gave Me a Chance

Before entering films, Lathish briefly worked in Bengaluru and later shifted to Hyderabad in 2017 with dreams of becoming an actor. Though many appreciated his talent, opportunities never came easily.

He initially worked as an associate director under Mahipal Reddy for the film Poster. After the pandemic disrupted things, he independently created and acted in a short film for YouTube before continuing work in the direction department again.

I Even Had to Ask My Family for Money to Buy a Camera

Recalling the struggles during his short-film phase, Lathish said he faced severe financial difficulties. He had to request money from his family just to arrange a camera, while finding producers or investors proved nearly impossible.

Without memberships or industry backing, things became even more complicated. Eventually, he took acting training under Dr. Shaik John Bashir, whom he credits as a major turning point in his life.

They Asked for One Lakh… But Trained Me for Free

Lathish revealed that when he approached B Studio, he was initially told that personal acting training would cost one lakh rupees. Disheartened, he questioned whether acting was only for people with money.

Moved by his dedication and passion, the institute decided to train him completely free of cost. During his time there, he performed in several stage plays, which eventually led to the Thimmarajupalli TV team noticing him during auditions.

I Gained 30 Kilos for the Villain Role

Speaking about playing Siddaiah, Lathish said he always believed villains hold equal importance to heroes in cinema. Inspired by many legendary actors who began their careers with negative roles, he embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly.

To suit the character physically, he underwent a major transformation and gained nearly 30 kilos. He says the appreciation feels especially rewarding whenever audiences fail to recognize him outside the film and ask if it was really him on screen.

Bashir Sir Hugged Me… I’ll Never Forget It

The actor became emotional while talking about the appreciation he received after the film’s release. He said Kiran Abbavaram personally praised the entire team and especially appreciated both him and Pradeep for their performances.

Lathish recalled Kiran telling him, “You’re such a calm person outside… how did you transform like that on screen?” He also received praise from Naresh Agastya and his mentor Dr. Bashir.

One moment, however, remains closest to his heart after the release, Bashir sir spoke proudly about him at the institute and hugged him warmly. Lathish says it’s a memory he will cherish forever.

I Believe Good Things Will Happen Soon

Currently, Lathish is working part-time at B Studio while listening to new scripts and opportunities. Though nothing has been finalized yet, he says he is hopeful and believes the right projects will soon come his way.
