Manoj Manchu’s Emotional Visit to MatruDevobhava Ashram Wins Hearts

‘RawKing’ Manoj Manchu’s Emotional Visit to MatruDevobhava Ashram Touches Hearts

In a deeply moving act of compassion, ‘RawKing’ Manoj Manchu recently visited MatruDevobhava Anadha Ashramam as part of the ongoing “Celebrity Punathanma Challenge.” What started as a simple visit soon turned into an unforgettable emotional moment after Manoj spent time with Santhosh, a homeless man struggling with mental health issues who had been rescued from the streets.

Rather than limiting his visit to formal interactions, Manoj personally stepped in to help Santhosh regain a sense of dignity and self-worth. He arranged for a haircut, shave, fresh clothes, and basic grooming, staying beside him throughout the process. The transformation visibly moved everyone present at the ashram.

After seeing Santhosh’s new look, Manoj smiled warmly and said, “Santosh bhai… ippudu hero la unnava.” He affectionately asked whether he liked the new clothes and encouraged him to smile, creating one of the most heartfelt moments from the visit.

Speaking during the interaction, Manoj shared that the ashram’s organiser Giri had first contacted him through Instagram nearly two months ago. Although tied up with film shoots and professional commitments at the time, Manoj said the request stayed in his mind and eventually pushed him to personally visit the shelter.

During the visit, Manoj spoke emotionally about how society often ignores mentally distressed people living on the streets.

“Orphanages and old-age homes at least receive some support and attention. But people struggling mentally on roads are often completely neglected because of how they look or behave. Even now, many treat them like untouchables. We are living in 2026  we have doctors, awareness, and resources. Yet humanity is still missing in many places,” he said.

He added that even spending a small amount of time with compassion can slowly restore confidence and dignity in someone who has been abandoned by society.

Deeply impacted by what he witnessed, Manoj also revealed that he wants to think beyond temporary help and focus on creating long-term rehabilitation support systems. Alongside the sports rehabilitation centre he is already planning, the actor said he is now considering a dedicated care and rehabilitation facility for mentally challenged and psychologically distressed individuals as well.

He stressed that the Telugu community has many capable doctors and mental health professionals who could contribute meaningfully if more people and organisations come together.

Manoj further assured that AIKYA DHAIRYA SENA SAMITHI would continue supporting the ashram and its humanitarian efforts. After noticing residents having meals under trees due to lack of proper infrastructure, he immediately promised to arrange tables and chairs for the shelter.

Ashram organiser Giri became emotional while thanking Manoj for personally visiting and spending time with the residents despite doubts from many people about whether he would actually come.

He revealed that Santhosh had wandered around the Chaderghat area for nearly two years before finally reaching the shelter.

There was a time when he wouldn’t even respond properly when food was offered. But with patience and care, people slowly begin reconnecting with life again. Today, society may start seeing him differently,” Giri said.

He also explained that the organisation is currently focused on rehabilitating abandoned men but hopes to eventually expand its support system for women too. Giri requested Manoj’s help in arranging psychiatric support for residents, explaining that transporting mentally distressed individuals for treatment remains one of the ashram’s biggest challenges.

Calling Manoj the first actor to personally visit the shelter and spend meaningful time with residents in this way, Giri thanked him and his family for bringing visibility, compassion, and hope to people often forgotten by society.

On the professional front, Manoj Manchu is simultaneously balancing films and social initiatives. His action entertainer David Reddy is progressing rapidly with a major portion of shooting already completed, while Rakshak is preparing for launch. He is also working on Mohana Raga alongside several upcoming projects currently under development.

At a time when public gestures often remain symbolic, Manoj’s visit to MatruDevobhava Anadha Ashramam stood out for its sincerity  reminding many that sometimes, humanity begins with simply treating another person with dignity.
