Chief Minister Watches ‘Phule’ Along with Ministers
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday watched the film Phule, which is based on the lives of social reformers Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. After the Assembly session concluded, the Chief Minister, along with his cabinet colleagues, MLAs and MLCs, travelled from the Assembly to Prasads Labs in an RTC bus.
It was a notable moment as all the public representatives travelled together like ordinary citizens. The police provided tight security to the bus carrying the Chief Minister.
Directed by Ananth Mahadevan, the Hindi film Phule was released on April 25 last year and received critical acclaim. Pratik Gandhi played the role of Jyotirao Phule, while Patralekha Paul portrayed Savitribai Phule. The film powerfully depicts the couple’s fight against caste discrimination and the challenges they faced while promoting women’s education.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the lives of great social reformers are truly inspiring for today’s generation.
