National Education Day 2025 Celebrated with Grandeur at IIAM College, Visakhapatnam Honoring the Legacy of Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad
Visakhapatnam, November 11, 2025:
IIAM College, M.V.P. Colony, Visakhapatnam, hosted the National Education Day Celebrations 2025 with great enthusiasm to mark the 137th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister and a visionary leader who laid the foundation for modern Indian education.
Honoring a Visionary
Presiding over the event, Prof. Pulipati King, Rector of Andhra University, delivered an inspiring address highlighting Maulana Azad’s lifelong dedication to education, unity, and intellectual freedom. He appreciated the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trust (MAKAT) for its efforts in carrying forward Azad’s mission of inclusive and quality education for all.
Remembering Maulana Azad’s Legacy
A freedom fighter, scholar, and reformer, Maulana Azad believed education was the key to building a strong and united nation. As India’s first Education Minister (1947–1958), he established institutions such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), IITs, and Sahitya, Lalit Kala, and Sangeet Natak Akademis, shaping the country’s academic and cultural landscape. His vision for universal and secular education continues to guide India’s progress.
Highlights of the Celebrations
The event was organized by Dr. Khaja Rahamtulla T., Ph.D., Chairman & Managing Trustee, and Janab K.M. Chistee (Babu Bhai), Vice-Chairman of MAKAT, in collaboration with Andhra University and ILF Global, Belgium.
The celebrations began with floral tributes to Maulana Azad, followed by the release of the MAKAT Annual Report 2025, presented by Dr. Rahamtulla, detailing the Trust’s educational and social initiatives across Andhra Pradesh.

A Step Toward Empowerment
During the program, Mr. Srini Reddy, CEO of ILF Global, Belgium, announced a ₹5 million matching grant and invited NRI supporters to contribute to MANAT, an initiative by MAKAT to provide educational support to underprivileged students.
