Winning National Awards Adds to Our Responsibility to Make Even Better Films: Team Baby
The team of Baby held a press meet in Hyderabad today to celebrate their win at the 71st National Film Awards. The film won two major honors: Best Screenplay for director Sai Rajesh and Best Playback Singer for PVNS Rohith’s emotional number “Premistunna.” The team came together to share their happiness and gratitude for the national recognition.
Editor Viplav said, “It’s a proud moment for all of us. Sai Rajesh had told me during the shoot that Baby had the potential for a National Award, and he was right. I’m happy I was part of this beautiful journey.”
Lyricist Suresh Banishetti added, “I wrote five songs and two bit songs for Baby. I always hoped one of them would bring me recognition, and seeing the film win a National Award feels incredibly fulfilling. Sai Rajesh truly deserves all the honors maybe even an Oscar someday!”
Singer PVNS Rohith, who won Best Playback Singer, said, “Before Baby, I faced many setbacks. Songs I recorded would get replaced. But ‘Premistunna’ changed everything. I treated it like my last shot. I thank Sai Rajesh, SKN, and Vijay Bulganin for believing in me.”
Heroine Vaishnavi Chaitanya shared, “I’m grateful to be part of Baby. Sai Rajesh showed what passion and persistence can achieve. Even two years after release, people still talk about the film and its music especially ‘Premistunna,’ which touched all our hearts during filming.”
Producer SKN reflected, “In the past, Telugu cinema rarely received National Awards. But this year, almost ten came our way. Baby has already won several awards, and now getting national honors makes us prouder. Sai Rajesh nurtured the story for years, and that’s why it connected with audiences. This award also reminds us that with recognition comes greater responsibility to create even better films.”
Actor Anand Deverakonda said, “It feels surreal to see ‘National Award Winner’ on a film I acted in. Baby became a cult hit thanks to the dedication of our team. Sai Rajesh now has two National Awards to his name, and I’m lucky to work with such a director. SKN’s belief in the film played a huge role in its success.”
Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni said, “Out of all the films I’ve worked on, Baby is the most special. I thank Sai Rajesh and SKN for making me part of this film. Rohith winning for ‘Premistunna’ was the cherry on top.”
Director Sai Rajesh, visibly emotional, shared, “This story lived in my heart for two years. I’d imagine every scene in detail. When I heard about the Best Screenplay Award, I was thrilled. But hearing Rohith won for ‘Premistunna’ made me even happier. Everyone involved actors, technicians, producers gave their all. This award belongs to all of them. I thank SKN for standing by me when no one else did. Editor Viplav deserves equal credit for the screenplay award. Vaishnavi and Anand gave soul to the film. And a big thank you to the media for all your support.
With national honors now in their hands, the Baby team promises to carry this momentum forward, committed to creating cinema that connects, inspires, and stands the test of time.
