Saiyaara Brings Back the Classic Love Story with a Fresh Twist"

Mohit Suri on Saiyaara: “I had given up on making it with newcomers – until Ahaan & Aneet came along!”

The trailer of Saiyaara is finally out and the internet is buzzing! The romantic drama has quickly become one of the most talked-about debutant films in recent years, and it marks the exciting collaboration between Yash Raj Films and director Mohit Suri.

Mohit Suri admits that he had almost shelved the idea of making Saiyaara with newcomers. “I wasn’t finding fresh talent who could truly act,” he shares. “It’s a love story with emotional depth, and the leads need to be convincing on screen. I didn’t want to compromise.”

That changed when he came across Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. “They completely surprised me with their sincerity, vulnerability and talent. I spent time with them and saw how committed they were. That’s when I knew I could finally make Saiyaara the way I had originally imagined it.”

Mohit adds, “Making a film with newcomers isn’t easy. But Ahaan and Aneet bring a certain raw energy and honesty that makes this love story feel real.”

Produced by YRF’s CEO Akshaye Widhani, Saiyaara is described as an intense, emotional love story that blends YRF’s timeless romance style with Mohit Suri’s signature storytelling. Widhani says, “We wanted to tell a love story that reflects today’s youth their passion, emotions, and commitments. Mohit was the perfect fit.”

The film has also struck gold with its soundtrack. Songs like the title track by Faheem-Arslan, Barbaad by Jubin Nautiyal, Tum Ho Toh by Vishal Mishra, Humsafar by Sachet-Parampara, and Dhun by Arijit Singh & Mithoon have already become chartbusters.

While Ahaan Panday makes his big-screen debut as the next YRF hero, Aneet Padda known for her impressive role in Big Girls Don’t Cry steps in as the new YRF heroine.

Saiyaara hits theatres worldwide on July 18, 2025.
