Retro Telugu PreRelease Event: A Night Filled with Emotion and Celebration
The Retro prerelease event turned into an unforgettable evening on Saturday at the JRC Convention Center, Hyderabad. A massive gathering of fans and industry stalwarts brought electrifying energy to the grand celebration.
Vijay Deverakonda’s Heartfelt Tribute:
The night’s chief guest, Vijay Deverakonda, won hearts with his deeply emotional speech.
He began by honoring the victims of the Pahalgam tragedy, offering his prayers and condolences. Shifting to the celebration, he shared:
"Before I talk about cinema, my heart goes out to the victims of the Pahalgam tragedy.
I'm truly happy to be here for Suriya anna’s film. My admiration for him began with Ghajini, and from that moment, I became his fan for life. Suriya S/O Krishnan holds a very special place in my heart the ‘Chanchala’ song still makes me emotional even today.
Watching Suriya anna’s dedication to his craft from acting to dancing inspired me to dream of meeting him. To now be standing beside him feels surreal and unforgettable."
He went on to praise Suriya’s fearless choice of roles and experimentation with genres, calling him a true inspiration. Vijay also revealed plans to launch an educational initiative, inspired by Suriya’s Agaram Foundation, and wished Retro all the success ahead of its May 1st release.

Taking the stage to thunderous applause, Suriya spoke with heartfelt emotion:
"I pay my respects to the victims of the Pahalgam tragedy.
I’m overwhelmed seeing so much love for Retro. Working with Karthik Subbaraj has been an enriching experience his storytelling style is oneofakind. Sharing the screen with legends like Prakash Raj sir, Joju George, Jayaram sir, and Nassar sir has been an honor.
I’m grateful to Santhosh Narayanan for his electrifying music and Kasarla Shyam for the beautiful Telugu lyrics."
Suriya also expressed excitement about his upcoming Telugu film, Suriya46, directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi.
He wished Nani and the team of HIT 3 great success for their May 1st release and fondly praised Vijay Deverakonda, calling him a brother and wishing him the best for Kingdom.
Finally, he thanked fans and supporters of the Agaram Foundation, acknowledging their constant encouragement over the years.
