AP CM Chandrababu Naidu Commends Chiranjeevi at the Launch of Dr. Sharani’s Book "Mindset Shift"
The muchawaited launch of Dr. Sharani's book, Mindset Shift, took place at SS Convention in Vijayawada on Thursday. The event saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu and the legendary Megastar, Shri Chiranjeevi, who both graced the occasion as Chief Guests. Dr. Sharani, the author, is the daughter of Andhra Pradesh's Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, Ponguru Narayana.
In his address, CM Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the power of positive thinking and dedication as essential elements for success. Drawing a parallel with Chiranjeevi's remarkable journey, Naidu said, “Chiranjeevi garu rose to prominence in Telugu cinema through sheer determination and a positive mindset. Coming from a humble background with no film connections, his dedication and willpower helped him carve his place in the industry after NTR garu's shift to politics, filling the gap with immense hard work.”
Chandrababu Naidu also highlighted Chiranjeevi’s invaluable contributions to social service, particularly his pioneering initiative of setting up a blood bank. He recalled, "Back when I served as the Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh, Chiranjeevi garu approached me to help him establish a blood bank. It's a rare sight for a film star to think beyond the silver screen, and Chiranjeevi garu was a true trailblazer in this regard."
On the other hand, Chiranjeevi expressed his admiration for the book and its theme, stressing the importance of a mindset shift for success. "I have always believed in working smart along with working hard, and this book reflects that philosophy. Reading books on personality development has always inspired me, with The Secret being particularly influential in my life. Success, I believe, is not just about talent but also the attitude you carry along with it."
Recalling his early days, Chiranjeevi shared, "Coming from a modest background, I didn’t have much clarity after completing my graduation. But my passion for acting was undeniable. Though I faced criticism and doubts, I pursued my dream with unwavering focus. Even when I told my parents about my career choice, they supported me but also advised me to have a backup plan. I enrolled in the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, but it was clear that my heart lay in acting. I dedicated myself fully to it, choosing to either make it in the film industry or not at all."
He emphasized that success is not solely about hard work but also about values, sincerity, and humility. "There are many who achieve great things, but it’s their character and integrity that truly define their legacy."
When asked to share a message on overcoming obstacles, Chiranjeevi offered valuable advice. "Life isn’t always smooth sailing. We face numerous challenges, disappointments, and moments of demotivation. But there is one key trait that helps us power through: determination. In the early stages of my career, I was often offered only supporting roles, which left me feeling disheartened. But instead of being defeated, I treated each role as a stepping stone. Eventually, that perseverance led to leading roles and recognition from the audience."
He also praised Dr. Sharani for writing Mindset Shift, stating that the book would help countless individuals grow in their personal and professional lives.
In a somber moment, Chiranjeevi expressed his condolences for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. "It is heartbreaking to hear of the loss of innocent lives. Two individuals from our state were martyred, and I extend my deepest condolences to their families. I also commend CM Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan garu for their support to the bereaved families."
The event was attended by a number of dignitaries, including Minister Ponguru Narayana and former Minister Shri Ganta Srinivasa Rao, marking it as a significant and memorable occasion.
