Second Annual UKIDFF Health Camp Held at DNR College, Bhimavaram
The second annual UKIDFF (United Kingdom Indian Diabetic Foot Foundation) health camp was successfully conducted at the esteemed DNR College, Bhimavaram, on January 20, 2025. Building upon the achievements of its inaugural edition, this year’s camp witnessed an overwhelming participation of 3,000 attendees, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced awareness and care in diabetic foot health.
Organized under the visionary leadership of Dr. Venu Kavarthapu and coordinated by Smt. Shyamala Uppalapati and Sai Praseedha Uppalapati, the camp brought together a distinguished team of diabetic foot specialists and healthcare professionals from the UK, UAE, and India. The Indian contingent included experts from Apollo Hospital Jubilee Hills, led by Dr. Srinivas Seshabattaru; Dr. Varma group of hospitals, led by Dr. Varma; and Imperial Hospital, represented by Dr. Naresh.
The camp offered comprehensive diabetic foot care services, including screenings, free medications, consultations on foot protection, wound treatment, and long-term care recommendations. With diabetes-related foot complications becoming a growing concern globally, the initiative aimed to educate and empower individuals to take proactive measures in managing their health.
The event was graced by numerous dignitaries, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing public health challenges. Notable attendees included Dr. Srinivas from Apollo Hospitals; Dr. Vijay Papineni from Abu Dhabi; Narasapuram MP Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma; Bhimavaram MLA Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu; BJP former state president Somu Veerraju; Kamareddy MLA Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy; West Godavari Collector Naga Rani; Unguturu MLA Patsamatla Dharmaraju; Rajya Sabha MP Seetha Mahalakshmi; Tanuku MLA Arimilli Radha Krishna; MLCs Koyye Moshenu Raju and T.D. Janardhan; GHMC Commissioner Solomon Raju; Kshatriya Corporation Chairman V. Surya Narayana Raju; DNR College Chairman G.V. Narasimha Raju; former TTD board member G. Their presence underscored the shared responsibility of tackling diabetic foot complications.
