A Great Historical Film for Society: Razakar Team at the Press Meet
Razakar, a historically significant film featuring Bobby Simha, Vedhika, Anishka Tripathi, Prema, and Indraja in lead roles, continues to leave its mark. Produced by Gudur Narayana Reddy under the banner of Samarveer Creations LLP and directed by Yata Satyanarayana, the film was released last year to critical and commercial success. Now, Razakar is set for its world digital premiere on Aha OTT, starting January 24th. A press meet was held at Hyderabad's Prasad Labs to announce this milestone.
Producer Gudur Narayana Reddy shared, “While most films are made for entertainment and profit, Razakar was created with a sense of social responsibility. Our aim was to highlight the atrocities of the Razakars during the Nizam's rule in a gripping manner. It’s crucial for future generations to understand this history to prevent such horrors from recurring. Despite receiving threats to my life and family, I persevered. The film has garnered a 9.5 IMDb rating and was honored at the Goa Film Festival. The support of our team and director Yata Satyanarayana made this possible. I consider this film my contribution to society, and the audience's positive response has been deeply rewarding. Now, we’re making the film available to Telugu viewers on Aha OTT from January 24th. We hope for your continued support.”
Actress Indraja remarked, “Producer Gudur Narayana Reddy garu faced immense challenges to bring this story to life, and director Yata Satyanarayana dedicated a decade to crafting this masterpiece. Razakar sheds light on the historical events without creating division between communities. The film accurately portrays history, highlighting figures like the sixth Nizam, who worked for the welfare of the people. I had the privilege of playing Veeranari Chakali Ailamma, a true heroine who stood against injustice. I thank our director for this opportunity and urge everyone to watch this film.”
Actor Naga Mahesh shared, “I played Rapaka Ramachandra Reddy, a cruel Deshmukh in Razakar. I’m grateful to director Yata Satyanarayana for trusting me with such an impactful role. The film was made with extensive research and a strong sense of purpose by our producer Gudur Narayana Reddy. Please watch it on Aha OTT and support this meaningful project.”
Director Yata Satyanarayana expressed, “The response to Razakar has been phenomenal, not just in Telugu but also in Hindi, Marathi, and other languages. It has been recognized in 15 out of 18 film festivals we applied to and won the Best Indian Debut award at the IFFI in Goa. Representatives from 72 countries attended its screening at the Jaipur Film Festival and were astounded by this lesserknown chapter of India’s freedom struggle. The film won multiple awards and is finally coming to Aha OTT after much anticipation. With Aha’s vast Telugu subscriber base, I’m confident the film will reach a wider audience. Additionally, I have 20 more stories about Telangana’s history and plan to turn them into films soon. Razakar showcases Operation Polo within its narrative limits, and we hope viewers appreciate our effort.”
Art Director Tirumala Tirupati said, “Working on Razakar was a deeply fulfilling experience. The film spans a significant historical period, and creating its world was an artistically rewarding challenge. The director and producer’s support was invaluable, and the satisfaction of contributing to such a meaningful project is unparalleled.”
Razakar premieres on Aha OTT from January 24th. Don’t miss this gripping portrayal of history.
