Global Star Ram Charan Hails Shankar as the First Pan-India Director at GameChanger Event

Shankar Sir: The First Pan-India Director Who Redefined Larger-Than-Life Cinema, Says Global Star Ram Charan

Global Star Ram Charan has teamed up with the legendary filmmaker Shankar for the highly anticipated pan-India film, Game Changer. Slated for a grand theatrical release on January 10, the team hosted a press meet in Mumbai today. Present at the event were Ram Charan, producer Dil Raju, AA Films' Anil Thadani, and actor SJ Suryah.

Ram Charan's Tribute to Shankar

Speaking at the event, Ram Charan reminisced about his first interaction with Shankar:

"Shankar sir remade 3 Idiots as Nanban in Tamil. I was the chief guest for the Telugu audio launch of that movie. That day, I silently wished he would make a Telugu film someday, though not necessarily with me. Years later, when Dil Raju garu told me that Shankar sir wanted to work with me, I couldn’t believe it. It’s a dream come true. Shankar sir is a pioneer in commercial and larger-than-life cinema. As Rajamouli garu once said, he defined global cinema and was the first true pan-India director."

Ram Charan expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with both Shankar and Rajamouli in the past five years. He praised Shankar’s meticulousness:

"Shankar sir noticed a 5% difference in my hairstyle during a shot! He expects perfection and pushes every actor to deliver their best. It’s enriching to work with such taskmasters."

Dil Raju on Making Game Changer Special

Producer Dil Raju shared his vision for Game Changer, marking it as his 50th film:

"I wanted this milestone film to be extraordinary. With Ram Charan becoming a global star after RRR, we left no stone unturned. We even hosted an event in Dallas, USA, with over 12,000 attendees. The film has five songs, and we spent ₹75 crore on them alone, each taking 10–12 days to shoot. Shankar sir's precision is unparalleled."

Anil Thadani and SJ Suryah on the Film

Anil Thadani, distributing the Hindi version, said:

"It’s an honor to work on this massive film. Shankar sir’s films are always larger-than-life, and Ram Charan is a fantastic star and a wonderful person."

Actor SJ Suryah expressed excitement about the film:

"Ram Charan garu’s portrayal of Ram Nandan and Appanna will captivate audiences. The flashback scenes featuring Appanna will leave a lasting impression. Game Changer is a war between a crooked politician and an honest IAS officer, with an inspiring message."
