"Youth Will Love and Enjoy 'Drinker Sai'" - Producer Basavaraju Laharidhar
The upcoming film Drinker Sai, featuring Dharma and Aishwarya Sharma in lead roles, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on December 27th. With the tagline "Brand of Bad Boys," the movie is inspired by real events and is directed by Kiran Tirumalasetti. It is produced by Basavaraju Srinivas, Ismail Sheikh, and Basavaraju Laharidhar under the banners of Everest Cinemass and Smart Screen Entertainments.
During a recent interview, producer Basavaraju Laharidhar shared insights into the film's journey and highlights:
Chiranjeevi's Encouragement
"We are newcomers to the film industry. My father, Basavaraju Srinivas, who had a significant role in the PRP party, was well-acquainted with Megastar Chiranjeevi garu. When we conceived Drinker Sai, we shared the story with him. He not only gave his blessings but also encouraged us to proceed. After watching parts of the film, he expressed his appreciation and even asked to see the songs."
"We began working on the film in 2019, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays. Filming resumed last year. Director Kiran Tirumalasetti, who previously worked on scriptwriting with Maruthi garu, has dedicated himself to this project. He made several adjustments to the initial story, ensuring it was impactful."
"When we envisioned the character of Drinker Sai, Dharma seemed like the perfect fit. He trained under Satyanand garu and delivered an impressive performance. For the heroine, Aishwarya Sharma stood out during auditions and has portrayed her role, Baghi, with great effectiveness."
"We believe December 27th is a great release date, with fewer competing films. We’ve secured strong theater bookings, and the censor process is underway. The film’s first half is packed with youthful energy, while the second half carries a strong emotional appeal for families. Although our promotions highlight youthful elements, the movie delivers a meaningful message."
"We aimed for a high production value to avoid it being perceived as a small film. The music by Sree Vasanth has been well-received, with all songs already hits. Collaborating with Hesham Abdul Wahab and featuring renowned singers has elevated the soundtrack. Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose contributed a song, which has become a major highlight of the film."
Future Projects
The theatrical and OTT market for small films is challenging, but we are confident in our film's content. Once Drinker Sai releases, we plan to focus on our upcoming projects. For now, our entire energy is dedicated to making this film a success.
Drinker Sai promises to entertain youthful audiences with its fresh storytelling and memorable music while delivering a heartfelt message for all.
