Sub:- Request to Govts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for increase of occupancy of seats in Cinema

Theatres/Multiplexes in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana from 50% to LOO% - as done by Tamilnadu

Government vide their G.O. (Ms) No. 001 dt. 04.01.2021-Reg.

We hereby inform that the Governments of Government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were kind

enough to accord the permission upto 50% occupancy of seats in Cinema Theatres/Multiplexes duly

following Standard Operating Procedure in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana vide G.O. R.T. No.443

dated 05.10.2020 and G.O. Ms. No. 158 dated 23.11.2020 respectively. ln this connection, we hereby

inform that with the occupancy upto 50% seats and the expenditure incurred for maintenance of

theatres with Standard Operating Procedure, the Management of Theatres are not able to meet

necessary expenditure for maintenance of theatres and therefore incurring losses.

Now, that the Government of Tamilnadu have issued orders vide G.O.(Ms) No. 001 dated 04.01.2027

increasing the seating capacity of Cinemas Theatres/Multiplexes from 50% to LOO% in Tamilnadu by

following the Standard Operating Procedure, taking into account the decrease in COVID-19 cases day by

day and the problems faced by the Cinema Theatres/Multiplexes.

We therefore, requested both'Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and other concerned

Hon'ble Ministers and Departments through our letters dated 04.01.202Lto issue necessary orders to

increase the occupation of Cinema Theatres from 50% to 100% duly following Standard Operating

Procedure in Andlra Pradesh and Telangana which will help the Management of Cinema

Theatres/M ultiplexes meet the necessary expenditure for maintenance of Cinema

theat ultiplexes in /nphra Pradesh affielangana.
