Bobby Deol’s ‘Bandar’ to Premiere on Hindi ZEE5 on August 28
Anurag Kashyap’s latest directorial Bandar is all set to premiere exclusively on Hindi ZEE5 on August 28, 2026. The film stars Bobby Deol in a powerful and intense role, along with Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad, Indrajith Sukumaran, Raj B. Shetty, Jitendra Joshi and others.
Produced by Saffron Magicworks and Zee Studios, Bandar is a crime drama and psychological thriller that explores accusation, public perception and the search for justice.
The story follows Samar Mehra, a former television star whose life changes completely after he is accused of rape by his former partner. As the news spreads, Samar faces intense media attention, public judgment and a difficult legal battle.
The film looks at the impact of an accusation and raises an uncomfortable question: can men also become victims of public perception, media trials and social judgment?
Director Anurag Kashyap said the film interested him because it explores difficult questions and the grey areas that exist in real life. He also praised Bobby Deol’s performance, saying the actor brought vulnerability and intensity to the character.
Bobby Deol described Bandar as a challenging project that took him out of his comfort zone. He said working with Anurag Kashyap allowed him to explore an unusual and complex character.
