Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana: A Grand Cinematic Epic Begins with ‘The Introduction’

Set 5,000 years ago and treasured by billions, Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana is being transformed into a spectacular two-part live-action film unlike anything seen before. This ambitious project combines the creative forces of top Hollywood and Indian talents to bring the epic to life on a massive scale.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios along with the Oscar-winning VFX experts at DNEG, in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film is being shot for IMAX, with Part 1 releasing in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027, promising a visual experience made for the biggest screens.

To kick off this cinematic journey, the creators revealed ‘Ramayana: The Introduction’ to the world  offering the first look into a universe that will bring the legendary conflict between Rama and Ravana to global audiences. The launch made waves worldwide with fan screenings across nine Indian cities and an eye-catching takeover of Times Square in New York.

This reimagined Ramayana aims to blend India’s timeless storytelling with cutting-edge filmmaking, uniting an extraordinary team of Oscar-winning artists, international creators, and India’s finest actors to retell a story of good versus evil that continues to inspire millions.
