Vishnu Induri, Founder of CCL and Phantom Films to Co Produce a Movie on the 1983 Indian World Cup Team.
The Popularity that Indian Cricket enjoys today is the
result of the Victory that the 1983 World Cup Team has delivered going into the
tournament as the least favorites. This Journey of the 1983 World Cup team into
the World Cup Final is now being made as a Bollywood Movie by Vishnu Induri,
Founder of Celebrity Cricket League and Madhu Mantena of Phantom Films.
The producers have signed an MOU with the entire 1983
Team and got them on board to make an official Biopic of their journey towards
winning the first World Cup in 1983. As per this MOU the producers will get to
use the actual names of the players and true incidents from their lives. Eleven
Members out of the 14 players of the 1983 Team came together on 10th
June in Mumbai were excited that their story is being told to this generation
which treats cricket as their religion which was not the same scene back then.
Speaking on the occasion Kapil Dev Said “The Journey of 1983 Team is a story of
inspiration which proves that one can achieve anything if they aim for it and
work for it no matter what the world thinks”. Speaking about the Movie Vishnu
Induri and Madhu Mantena the producers of the film said “We are super excited
about making of the 1983 Movie and it’s a huge responsibility on our shoulders
to get it right as we don’t get to tell stories like this often”.
