Hyderabad, October 9, 2013: Keeping up our culture and traditions we at Zee Telugu, celebrate all
important festivals across the year. Bathukamma is one of the main festivals, to women in particular,
is being widely celebrated with great devotion and reverence.
This colorful festival will be celebrated for nine days during Durga Navratri across AP. It starts on the
day of Mahalaya Amavasya and concludes two days before Dussera, called Durgashtami. On the final
day, the closing ceremony of Bathukamma panduga is celebrated as a great festival - Pedda
Bathukamma or Saddula Bathukamma. Bathukamma is a beautiful flower stack, arranged with
seasonal flowers, in seven concentric layers, of potter’s clay like a cone. Bathuku in Telugu means
live/life, and Amma means mother; hence Bathukamma, is celebrated for the glory, later denoted
as Goddess Gauri - the patron goddess of womanhood.
Considering the wide popularity of this festival, Zee Telugu has come up with a special Event
‘Bathukamma Panduga’ with lead Artistes performing from three top primetime soaps - Gorantha
Deepam, Kalavari Kodalu & Pasupu Kumkuma. Public gathered in huge numbers to witness the
festive celebration.
This program is scheduled to telecast on this Saturday, Oct 12th @ 6:00 pm only on Zee Telugu.
