PRESS NOTE
The Telugu Film Producers Council has released a Press Note dt. 05.12.2020 regarding the problems
being faced by Producers on the issues of VPF charges, Maintenance charges in Theatres, Catering of
shows for small and feel good movies, Percentage of ticket sales to Prqducers on the sales generated
from sales platform, Same revenue sharing in A.P and Telangana etc. Our Council sent a copy of this
Press Note to Telugu Film Chamber for immediate action . Also, Our Council sent a letter dt. L7.LO.202O
to Telugu Film Chamber regarding VPF (Virtual Print Fee) charges levied on the Producers by the
Exhibitors for their action.
As a follow up of our Press Note dt. 05.12.2020 and our said letter, a meeting has been conducted
yesterday l!4.t2.2O2O) in Chamber Hall, Filmnagar by Telangana State Film Chamber in which besides
our TFPC, Telangana State Fitm Chamber Distributors, Exhibitors and few Producer membe* were
present.
After deliberations on the issue of opening of multiplexes and other theatres, the following discussions
ensued :-
1. Producers will not pay VPF Charges.
2. Producers will pay nominal charges for content transpsort.
3. Digital Providers will give an option to buy their two or more years old Projectors to Theatre
Owners so as to enable them to receive advertisements revenue.
4. lf the Theatre Owners cannot afford to buy the Projectors, then Producers will some- how
involve and help to buy their Projectois.
5. lf Digital Providers will not agree above 1,2 and 3, then Theatre Owners will go with their
own Projectors.
Further, it has been decided to hold a review meeting on 17th Dec 2020 at 4.00 PM on the above issues.
