‘Kanaka Durga’ Launched with Pooja Ceremony in Grand Presence of Surekha Konidela
The upcoming film Kanaka Durga, starring Allari Naresh in the lead role, was officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony on Saturday. The event was graced by Surekha Konidela as the chief guest.
Produced under the banners of Applause Entertainment and Temple Town Pictures, the film marks Applause Entertainment’s entry into Telugu cinema after its successful journey in Tamil. The movie is directed by Pradeep Maddali and features Kajal Chowdary as the female lead, with Subbaraju playing a key role.
The film is said to be a devotional drama blended with action, emotion, and music, promising a rich cinematic experience inspired by Indian spiritual traditions.
The grand launch event was attended by several prominent personalities including Allu Aravind, Shyam Prasad Reddy, Harish Shankar, Kona Venkat, Prashanth Varma, Madhura Sridhar, Swapna Dutt, Supriya, and others from the film industry.
During the muhurtham shot, Allu Aravind gave the clap, while Surekha Konidela switched on the camera. Swapna Dutt directed the ceremonial shot, and Shyam Prasad Reddy handed over the script.
Speaking at the event, Applause Entertainment Movies Business Head Sunil Chainani expressed happiness about entering Telugu cinema with Kanaka Durga, calling it a film rooted in devotion, culture, and strong emotions.
Producers Ajit Thakur and B.V.S. Ravi shared that the story is deeply connected to Telugu culture and spirituality, making this project very special for them. Director Pradeep Maddali said the film is very close to his heart and goes beyond devotion, exploring how a broken individual transforms after encountering a higher power.
The pooja ceremony concluded on a spiritual note, with attendees offering prayers and paying tribute to the divine feminine energy of Goddess Kanaka Durga.
