We Are Overwhelmed by the Blockbuster Response to The Raja Saab – Producer T. G. Vishwa Prasad & Director Maruthi
Rebel Star Prabhas’ much-awaited film The Raja Saab hit theatres on Friday and has opened to blockbuster success across the globe. Directed by Maruthi, the film blends horror and fantasy into a large-scale family entertainer. Produced by T. G. Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, the film has been mounted on a grand international scale. With strong box-office numbers pouring in from all territories, the team celebrated the success with a King-Size Blockbuster Meet in Hyderabad.
Actresses Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar have been receiving praise for their performances and screen presence. The film’s collections continue to remain strong worldwide, especially among family audiences.
Speaking at the event, Riddhi Kumar shared her happiness over the audience response. She said viewers and fans are thoroughly enjoying the film and that the positive feedback on social media has been very encouraging. She mentioned that the team worked on The Raja Saab for nearly three years, and seeing the audience appreciate their effort feels truly special.
Nidhhi Agerwal said the film opened to blockbuster numbers and is being well received everywhere. She described The Raja Saab as a perfect Sankranthi family entertainer that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. She added that scenes like the crocodile episode and the climax are getting loud applause in theatres and said it was heartwarming to hear fans chanting “Darling Darling” during the screenings.
Malavika Mohanan said the film is entertaining audiences while posting impressive collections. She expressed joy over the strong response to her character Bhairavi, especially the action sequences. Thanking director Maruthi for trusting her with such a powerful role, she also appreciated producer T. G. Vishwa Prasad for backing the film with a bold vision. Acting alongside Prabhas, she said, was a dream come true and hoped to work with him again.
Producer T. G. Vishwa Prasad said the entire team is extremely happy with the film’s success. He revealed that while they expected a ₹100 crore worldwide opening, The Raja Saab surpassed expectations by collecting ₹112 crore on Day 1. He added that more collection figures are still coming in and an official update will be announced soon. He also highlighted the strong response from kids and family audiences. He revealed that a four-minute old-look sequence of Prabhas, which could not be included earlier due to technical reasons, has now been added to all shows. Despite mixed opinions from a few sections, he said the film is running successfully and is expected to perform strongly throughout the Sankranthi season.
Director Maruthi said working with Prabhas is an experience he will always cherish. While he usually completes films quickly, he spent nearly three years shaping The Raja Saab. He said his intention was to present Prabhas exactly the way audiences wanted to see him. He mentioned that the forty-minute episode in the film has received appreciation worldwide and added that films with fresh concepts often take time to fully connect.
He also revealed that based on audience feedback, Prabhas’ old-look scenes and an eight-minute rooftop fight sequence have been added from evening shows onwards. Some lengthy portions have been trimmed as well. From now on, he said, audiences will experience the “real Raja Saab.” Maruthi expressed confidence that fans will be fully satisfied and wished success to all films releasing this Sankranthi. He also shared that several industry friends, including Allu Arjun, personally called to congratulate him.
