 Draupathi 2 Creates Strong Buzz with Chirag Jani as a Powerful Villain

Mohan G’s much-anticipated historical action drama Draupathi 2 is steadily building excitement among audiences and the film trade. Set in 14th-century South India, the multilingual period film has completed post-production and has been awarded a U/A certificate by the CBFC, clearing the way for its release journey.

The makers have now raised expectations further by revealing details about the film’s three major antagonists, with Chirag Jani introduced as the first-level villain. His intense look and commanding screen presence have added a new layer of intrigue to the film. Along with this, Richard Rishi’s striking appearance, the film’s grand visuals, and its soulful songs have continued to fuel the buzz.

Director Mohan G shared his thoughts on Chirag Jani’s role, stating that he plays Mohammad Bin Tughlaq as more than a conventional villain. According to him, the character reflects a ruler known for intelligence, ambition, and inner conflict. Mohan G praised Chirag for bringing both strength and depth to the role, saying that the actor fully lived the character and elevated the film with his performance.

Draupathi 2 stars Richard Rishi in the lead role, with Rakshana Indusudan as the female lead and Natti Natraj in an important role. The film also features a strong supporting cast including Y.G. Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, Vel Ramamoorthy, Siraj Johnny, Dinesh Lamba, Ganesh Gaurang, Divi, Devayani Sharma, and Arunodayan.

The film is produced by Chola Shakkaravarthi under Netaji Productions, in association with G.M. Film Corporation. Technical credits include cinematography by Philip R. Sundar, music by Ghibran Vaibodha, action choreography by Action Santosh, editing by Devaraj, and production design by Kamalnathan. Dialogues are penned by Padma Chandrasekhar and Mohan G.

With censor formalities completed, the team is gearing up for an aggressive promotional push. The trailer and audio launch are expected soon, followed by an official announcement of the worldwide theatrical release date.
