“Gurram Paapireddy Has a Strong Story with Fun in Every Scene” – Naresh Agastya
Starring Naresh Agastya and Faria Abdullah in the lead roles, Gurram Paapireddy is presented by Dr. Sandhya Goli and produced by Venu Saddi, Amar Bura, and Jayakanth (Bobby). Directed by Murali Manohar, the film is a dark comedy made on a completely new concept. The movie is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on the 19th of this month.
Speaking in a recent interview, hero Naresh Agastya shared interesting insights about the film.
I have never done a film like Gurram Paapireddy before. In my earlier movies, my characters were calm and settled. This time, my role is energetic and takes charge of the story. I immediately liked the script when Murali Manohar narrated it. We worked on this project for nearly a year,” he said.
During promotions, an unexpected moment brought extra attention to the film. “Tejaswini from Raju Weds Rambai accidentally called our movie Gedela Paapireddy. Though it was a mistake, it went viral and helped the film reach more people,” Naresh recalled with a smile.
Talking about the story, Naresh revealed, “My character comes with a clear purpose. To achieve it, he chooses people who are not very smart but easy to manage. What the mission is, and whose dead body we are searching for, is the core mystery of the film. Even the trailer doesn’t reveal it.”
He explained the film’s theme saying, “The story shows what happens when smart people act foolishly and foolish people behave intelligently. That contrast creates comedy. Though the characters face serious problems, those situations become entertainment for the audience. Every scene has fun, but there is a strong story running throughout. The interval will really shock viewers.”
Naresh praised the producers for their commitment. “The film was made without any compromise. Even when the budget went up, quality was never affected. We waited specially for Yogi Babu, and working with him was a great experience. He is very friendly and even took me around Ramoji Film City on his bike.”
He also appreciated his co-actors. “Faria Abdullah, Rajkumar Kasireddy, and Vamsidhar have excellent comic timing. Acting with them was enjoyable. We worked in a very friendly atmosphere. Krishna Saurabh’s music has also received a good response, including the promotional song.”
Sharing his excitement about the release, Naresh said, “Our trailer is getting positive feedback. We are confident about the film. The premieres are happening tomorrow, and I am eagerly waiting to see the audience’s reaction.”
On a personal note, Naresh spoke about his interests. “I love traveling and free diving. I once dived 80 feet deep and stayed underwater for 3 minutes and 40 seconds on a single breath.
Talking about his career choices, he said, “For me, a commercial film is one that can engage audiences even without songs or fights. I enjoy working on new concepts. I’m doing a commercial film next year and have high hopes for it. We’ve completed 70 percent of the shoot. I believe Gurram Paapireddy has reached people because of strong promotions, unlike some of my earlier films.
