Vijay Deverakonda Clarifies: “I Promoted a Legal Gaming App, Not Betting” Addresses ED Inquiry
Renowned actor Vijay Deverakonda has publicly clarified that his recent promotional activities were for a registered and legal gaming platform, not a betting app, following his appearance before the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Speaking to the media, Vijay emphasized his full cooperation with authorities, sharing, “I have submitted all relevant documents, including my contract, bank statements, and transactional details. The officials reviewed everything and were satisfied with my transparency.”
Vijay drew a crucial distinction between legal gaming apps and betting applications. He explained, “Platforms like A23, My11Circle, and Dream11 are officially registered and authorized. These companies are known for sponsoring major sporting events, including the Indian cricket team, IPL, WPL, and even the Olympics. I only promoted A23, a platform that abides by all legal requirements.”
Urging the media to help clarify the difference for the public, Vijay stated, “There’s a clear line between legal and illegal platforms. It’s essential for everyone, especially the media, to understand and convey this difference.”
He concluded, “Ultimately, it is for the Supreme Court and Government of India to decide the legalities. I have followed the law in all my actions and maintain complete transparency in my work.”
This clarification helps reinforce the importance of distinguishing between legitimate online gaming platforms and unauthorized betting apps, a key message Vijay Deverakonda wants the public to understand.
