Fighting Drug Abuse is a Personal Responsibility" – Vijay Deverakonda
Actor Vijay Deverakonda shared that standing against drug abuse is something he takes seriously and personally. He attended an awareness program hosted by the Telangana Government on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and actor Ram Charan were also present.
Speaking at the event, Vijay recalled how his involvement in the campaign began. “While shooting in Visakhapatnam, a police officer approached me for a short video supporting the anti-drug initiative. I agreed without knowing much. Later, I was surprised to learn that there’s a global day dedicated to fighting drug abuse. After understanding the seriousness of the issue, I felt it was important to use my voice to spread awareness,” he said.
Vijay further warned about the deep damage drugs can cause. “You don’t need a war to destroy a countrygetting its youth hooked on drugs is enough. Our nation’s strength lies in its young people, and that’s exactly why harmful elements are targeting them with drugs,” he said.
He urged young people to make wise choices. “Health, money, and respectthese are the things that matter in life. There’s no point in doing things that take away your future. If someone close to you is into drugs, stay away and protect yourself. Let’s live in a way that makes our parents proud,” he added.
Vijay’s heartfelt message called for everyone to come together and protect the next generation from the threat of drug addiction.
