Tuk Tuk is a fantasy drama set in a rural backdrop. With an intriguing concept and a fresh cast, the film aims to deliver a funfilled ride. Let’s see if it manages to engage the audience.

Story:

The film revolves around three teenage friends played by Harsha Roshan, Karthikeyaa Dev, and Steven Madhu who dream of bringing a new vehicle to their village . With limited resources, they modify an old scooter into a fully functioning autorickshaw. To their surprise, the vehicle operates on its own, bringing them fame and fortune. However, their joy is shortlived as they realize that a supernatural presence is behind the vehicle’s movement. Who is the ghost? Why is it connected to the rickshaw? How does Shilpa (Saanve Megghana) play a crucial role in the mystery? These questions form the core of the story.

Performances:

Harsha Roshan delivers a solid performance, carrying the film with ease. His expressions and dialogue delivery are on point. Karthikeyaa Dev and Steven Madhu add charm with their natural acting and good comic timing. Saanve Megghana steals the show with her screen presence and lively performance, fitting perfectly into the village backdrop. Nihal Kodhaty, though having limited screen time, makes a decent impact. The supporting cast, including Dayanand Reddy, plays their roles effectively.

Technical Aspects:

Supreeth C Krishna’s direction is fresh, and his idea of blending fantasy with a rural setting is commendable. However, the execution falters at times, especially in the second half, where the narrative slows down. Santhu Omkar’s music elevates the film with catchy songs and an effective background score. Karthik SaiKumar’s cinematography captures the village aesthetics beautifully, while the production values are impressive for a film of this scale. The editing by Ashwath ShivKumar could have been sharper, especially in the latter half.

Verdict:

Tuk Tuk is a lighthearted fantasy drama with a fresh premise and engaging performances. While the first half is fun and entertaining, the second half could have been more gripping. Despite its flaws, the film offers an enjoyable watch, especially for those who love feelgood stories with a touch of magic.
