§  Adds 5000 new network sites in six circles, 624 in TS & AP
§  Telangana and Andhra Pradesh circle network footprint expanded to 40%
§  Deepens retail presence with over 60000 POS and 200 branded stores

Hyderabad, February 09, 2015: Uninor, one of India’s fastest growing telecom operators, announced the completion of its largest ever network expansion in a single year. Uninor has deployed of 5000 additional network sites across its six circles.

With this the network footprint of Uninor has gone up by around 30% and population coverage has increased to 51%. The company now has more than 24,000 network sites deployed across its six circles with an ability to cover 5 crore or 50 million additional population in these regions.

“The addition of over 5000 new sites is a reflection of our commitment towards providing enhanced quality of services to our customers and a key step towards our expansion strategy in the country. With our ‘Sabse Sasta’ proposition and Internet for All strategy, we were able to achieve strong revenue growth this year,” said Vivek Sood, CEO, Uninor.

Telangana & Andhra Pradesh circles expanded its network by an additional 624 sites. The expansion gives Uninor a much deeper coverage and better service experience. Uninor has over 4.5 million subscribers in TS & AP. This makes it number 6 in the market.To serve customer better the company has 200 branded stores, and 60000 points of sale (POS).

 “In 2015, we are confident of a similar growth trajectory both on voice and internet. We will continue to make investments in the business to be able to stay relevant, improve our operations and grow profitably in the market,” said Vivek.

"This is by far the biggest network rollout since Uninor's launch in 2009. The network expansion in TS & AP will help us to provide Sabse Sasta voice and Internet services to more number of consumers here and establish a base for future revenue growth. We will also now be able to offer a better 2g coverage for data and voice. We will continue to serve our customers and the telecommunications sector overall to the best of our capabilities," said Satish Kannan, Circle Business Head, TS & AP, Uninor.

Uninor reported a 38 percent year on year improvement in gross revenue in Q3 2014 amid challenging operating environment. The average revenue per user (ARPU) for the company also went up by 4.4 per cent year-on-year in the third quarter. In the last 12 months, Uninor has added over 10 million new subscriptions in its six circles. The company acquired a new circle -- Assam -- in 2014 auction along with additional spectrum in four of its existing circles.  The preparations are underway to launch the circle of Assam.
