 Apollo Hospitals commemorates the 66th Republic day by organising Swachh Bharat!

Employees and doctors join in making the neighborhood streets, spick and span 

Hyderabad, January 26th, 2015: Apollo Hospitals, commemorated the 66th Republic Day of India, by hosting Swachh Bharat in the neighborhood of Apollo Health City, Jubilee Hills on Monday. Ms Sangita Reddy, Jt. Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, launched the campaign and led Senior doctors of various specialties, paramedics, nurses and over 500 employees in a “Clean & Green” drive with a missionary zeal, at dawn on Monday. 

Prominent specialists including Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy, Dr. Ravi Andrews along with the staff, armed with broomsticks, shovels, waste collection bags, fanned out and went about with the cleaning of the garbage and debris on the neighborhood street. They beautified the pavements by painting them; removed protrusion obstructing pedestrians movement and traffic flow; fenced the electric transformers, washed the areas around waste bins, removed unnecessary cable wires hanging on the electrical poles with the help from TSEB etc.

Speaking on the occasion Ms Sangita Reddy said, Hospitals are epitomes of hygiene, through this campaign we are extending the concept of healthy living to our neighborhood by educating and involving our staff and the community. For a hospital its immediate environs being clean is essential too, she added. She exhorted the staff to make cleanliness a habit and espouse the cause of cleanliness amongst their families, friends and neighbors, to make India clean. In partnership with GHMC and the neighborhood shopkeepers and vendors we will maintain the surroundings clean, she said.
