 Cardiology camp at Press Club Hyderabad

Hyderabad, September 21st, 2014: The Press Club of Hyderabad in association with KIMS Hospitals today conducted a health camp for scribes to create awareness on heart care and wellness at the Press Club premises. The camp was organized as a lead-up to the World Heart Day on September 29th. Over 100 families of scribes from various media organizations attended the camp.

Mr Ravikanth Reddy,  President, Press Club of Hyderabad said the camp was aimed at promoting preventative measures that will effectively reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. This is one of the several such campus being organized for the welfare of the members.

Katta Shekhar Reddy, Editor, Namasthe Telangana, who was the chief guest, said that journalists were prone to cardiovascular diseases due to their lifestyle and work pressures. He appreciated the club for regularly organizing health camps for journalists.

Commenting on the camp, Dr. Sidharth Prasad Mathur, Cardiologist, KIMS hospitals said, “Sedentary lifestyle increases risk of heart attacks and heart failures; and the same is increasingly becoming common among those who spend long hours sitting at a place or struck to computers. Through this camp we tried to educate families of journalists on the seriousness of heart diseases and how a healthy lifestyle help prevent the same.

Mr Rajamouli Chary, General Secretary, Press club of Hyderabad and P.V. Srinivas, Treasurer,  Duggu Raghu , Executive Committee Member and Mr K Rajendranath, GM, Marketing, KIMS Hospital graced the occasion
