25 years for Akhari Poratam|Nagarjuna's Akhari Poratam completes 25 years

Akhari Poratam was one the biggest hits in Nagarjuna's career. Written by Yendamuri Veerendernath (based on his novel Aakhari Poratam), directed by K Raghavendra Rao and produced by Aswini Dutt, the film was released on March 12, 1988 and has completed 25 years. The film boasts of well-written romantic tracks whilst having an underlying patriotic message. Ilayaraja's music was a major asset to the film. Amrish Puri's Telugu accent was the talk of the tinsel town during that time and Raghavendra Rao was so impressed with Amrish's unique accent that the director cast him in his subsequent Telugu films as well.
