It was in the last week of January that Neelima Tirumalshetty and Nagesh Muntha of Sanghamitra Arts welcomed stories from wannabe writers/directors, asking them to send in their synopsis to a mail id. The producers received about one thousand stories. The banner has finalised three novel ideas. Interestingly, one of them will be directed by an IT sector employee (Rakesh Srinivas).
The three films belong to three different genres, which was a conscious decision of the producers. A Shyam Gopal Varma Film (Naa Cinema, Naa Ishtam), to be directed by Rakesh, is a comedy thriller. Alias Janaki is a love story with a message interspersed into the story. It will be directed by Chandu of Tenth Class fame. The third film is Arare.. Arare (the first words of a song from Happy Days), which will be directed by Sashikiran Tikka, a Shekar Kammula disciple. It is a romantic comedy.
The producers have said, the artists and technicians of these films will all be newcomers. A film will be launched every month starting from April.
The intention of Neelima and Nagesh is to encourage the talent who want to make it big in Tollywood. They say that all these stories are amazing.
