Abhishek Agarwal of Abhishek Agarwal Arts, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and Pallavi Joshi of I AM Buddha Entertainment & Media made the critically acclaimed and commercially hit film The Kashmir Files last year and are coming up with another controversial film The Delhi Files which is based on the genocide in Bengal.

The makers have sent a legal notice to the chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee for defamatory comments against The Kashmir Files and The Delhi Files.

On Monday, Mamata Banerjee said that The Kashmir Files and The Delhi Files are propaganda. She said that BJP funds for the films made by Vivek Agnihotri.

The legal notice sent by the makers pointed out how the director was abused and threatened with FIRs by Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers following the announcement of his 2024 movie ‘The Delhi Files.’ It also highlighted the cancellation of the book signing event of Vivek Agnihotri in Kolkata.

In his legal notice, Vivek Agnihotri said that Mamata Banerjee made baseless allegations about his movie being funded by the BJP and that she has falsely accused him of defaming Kashmiri people.

“It is required that either you substantiate the allegations made by you against my clients and their movie by producing authenticated proof or to withdraw your statements by addressing media in similar manner and tendering unconditional apology to them. You need to give equal amount of publicity for withdrawing the accusations made against my clients,” reads the notice.
