The
most anticipated South Indian International Movie Awards- SIIMA is back with its
5th edition on 30th June and 1st July 2016, in
Singapore.
Taking
the South Indian Movie industry onto a global platform, the SIIMA nomination
process is executed by a panel of veteran judges from the Tamil, Telugu,
Kannada and Malayalam industries. The process then goes into the hands of the
audiences, who vote online to give the final verdict of the winners.
This
year, leading with the highest number of nominations in the various select categories
are OK Kanmani and Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in Tamil, Baahubali and Srimanthudu
in Telugu, Kendasampige and Rangi Taranga in Kannada, and Premam and Ennu Ninte
Moideen in Malayalam.
OK Kanmani is a
Tamil romantic drama, directed by Mani
Ratnam, which is leading the order with 9 nominations in categories like
Best Director, Film and Music Director etc.
Vignesh Shivan’s Naanum Rowdy Dhaan is next on the list
with 8 nominations, which is nominated in the categories of Best Film, Actress
and Director etc.
In the Telugu
order there is, the S.S.Rajamouli directed historical drama film – Baahubali starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati
who have been nominated in 11 categories like the Best Actor, Director and Film
etc. Giving them equal competition is the Mahesh
Babu and Shruti Hassan starrer Srimanthudu,
directed by
Koratala Siva, which is also amounting to 11 nominations in the categories of Best Actor, Actress and Director etc.

Leading
the Kannada order with a tie of 10 nominations each are Kendasampige, directed by Duniya
Soori, while RangiTaranga by Anup
Bhandari follows it with a total of 9 nominations. Both have made it to the categories of Best Lyricist, Female Singer
and Debutants etc.
While in the Malayalam
order with 14 nominations is the romantic drama – Premam featuring Nivin Pauly, and directed by
Alphonse Putharen, with nominations in the categories of Best Director, Actor and Film. Breaking even with it is the biographical romantic drama, Ennu Ninte Moideen by R. S. Vimal with 10 nominations, too.

Coming
to Singapore on the 30th June and 1st July, by bringing
together the best of the South Film Industry, SIIMA would witness the best of
Entertainment being awarded under one roof. Open to public voting from 25th
May (Wednesday), fans will be able to vote for their favourite stars and movies
