Veteran Film Actor and Dialogue writer Gollapudi Maruthi Rao has been honoured with ‘Ghazal Charitable Trust Life Time Achievement Award 2016’ by Ghazal Charitable Trust during the Dr. Ghazal Srinivas Palakol Kalaparishath National level Telugu Theater Festival held on 12-03-2016 at Palakol. Award was presented by Sri B.Gopala Krishna Reddy, Honourable Minister for Environment & Forests. Sri Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy, MLC, Sri Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, Chairman SC Corporation, Sri Nimmala Ramanaidu, MLA, Palakol, Sri Angara Rammohan rao, Government Chief Whip, AP. Renowned film celebrities Hero Siva Balaji, Anitha Chowdhary, Music Director DJ Vasanth, Poet Bhasker Bhatla, Sri Kondeti Suresh, Editor of Santhosham magazine were also graced the occasion.
During his response Gollapudi Maruthi Rao said “Palakol is a birth place for my acting career. Director Kodi Ramakrishna has given me the first chance to become an actor with the film ‘Intlo Ramaiah Veedilo Krishnaiah’. After that I acted more than 278 films and still continuing. I was very happy that my first film ran for 518 days in a theater in Hyderabad. The reason I came here to receive this award is Dr. Ghazal Srinivas, who is an embodiment of humanity and discipline. He is the only artist who dedicated his life for the art form of Telugu Ghazal and World Peace. I am really thankful to him for choosing me for this most prestigious Award. I consider Palakol is my Second Birth Place.
